Business Stakeholders Feedback

Supporting business overseas is a key task for the UK

The difficulties of doing business overseas and the challenges of globalisation, and achieving sustainable development are crucial issues that need to be addressed.

The FCO, working with UK Trade & Investment, looks to work with and promote UK business worldwide through its global network of Embassies, High Commissions and other offices overseas. The FCO has more 'branch' offices around the world than most multinationals and we encourage UK firms to make good use of them. In addition, we recognise the contribution that business, both in the UK and overseas, can make to achieving our broader foreign policy objectives.

We are looking for your thoughts and suggestions in shaping the way this relationship could develop and would welcome your comments on the following.

The UK government has created two plans for working with business and the trade unions and a strategy for working with stakeholders on Corporate Social Responsibility. We believe all three of these will have interest worldwide.

These documents can be read and downloaded from the FCO website. These are 'live' working documents on which the FCO's Sustainable Development and Business Group would welcome comments.
