we do not issue passports in Jerusalem. All passports for British nationals present in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories are issued at the British Embassy in Tel Aviv. Applications for British passports from residents and visitors in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza are accepted directly at the Embassy in Tel Aviv but can be submitted to the Consulate-General in Jerusalem or to the British Information & Services Office in Gaza city. We are aware that for some British nationals the Israeli closure restrictions mean applications can only be made to Jerusalem or Gaza. Please note that we are not staffed to handle lots of applications, so to provide as speedy and efficient a service as possible we advise British nationals who can to apply directly to Tel Aviv. Our role is very much as a post box in this regard.

passports issued at the British diplomatic missions do not state the place of issue. Under, "place of issue", your passport will read, "FCO" (for Foreign and Commonwealth Office).
