How to apply for a UK Visa

Where can I get information?

The UK Border Agency and the British Consulate General in Jerusalem work in partnership with a commercial organisation, WorldBridge.

You can find out whether you need a visa and how to apply through WorldBridge website. WorldBridge provides information through a telephone enquiry service, the number is +972 (0)2 5695166 and costs the equivalent of US$14 to make this call. All the information provided is supplied and approved by UK Border Agency.

Do I have to pay?

There is a charge for using the phone service, but information from the website and by email is free of charge.

Where can I get advice?

VFS and its staff cannot give you advice on how to complete your application, or what type of visa you should apply for.If you need help with your application, or advice about the UK’s immigration rules and requirements, you need to contact a qualified professional immigration adviser or lawyer. In the UK, the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner keeps a list of registered immigration advisers regulated by the office of the Immigration Services Commssioner or legally qualified professionals regulated by designated professional bodies. How do I submit my application?

You should submit your application through our online application service and bring your printed application, passport and relevant fee to the Visa Section of the British Consulate General, Jerusalem where you should submit you application and you biometric fingerscans.

Who decides whether I will get a visa?

The UK Border Agency staff in the British Embassy in Amman will process and decide your visa application. The WorldBridge staff and Consulate play no part in the outcome of your visa application.They cannot influence it in any way. If any member of staff employed by WorldBridge say they can influence your application, you should tell the British Consulate General immediately.
